“Reflective Writing for Professional Development”的讲座圆满举行

应管理学院邀请,2019年4月19日下午,波特兰州立大学(Portland State University)的Julia MacRae老师在三牌楼校区MBA教育中心做了题为“Reflective Writing for Professional Development”的讲座。此次讲座由管理学院院长助理张冲副教授主持,学院部分教师、研究生参加了讲座。

Julia老师针对“反思性写作对职业发展的促进作用”和“如何在课堂上运用反思性写作”两个主题展开介绍。她首先引导大家思考有关价值观的问题,如“我们最注重哪种价值观?”“我们的价值观是否与生活或工作相符?”“用头脑风暴法来思考关于该价值观的问题”等等。老师和同学们踊跃发言,对诚实、勤奋、责任感等价值观展开了充分讨论。接着,Julia老师以“人们什么时候学得最好?”引出信念与行为的匹配问题。大家认为有明确的目标、有兴趣、学习的内容很重要等是学得好的必要条件,Julia老师对此进行了分析和补充。之后,Julia老师建议老师和同学们写一件事,先从自己的角度描述这件事,再从对方的角度重新描述这件事,大家积极分享所遇到的事,Julia老师对此进行总结并强调了换位思考的重要性。最后,Julia老师提出在课堂上运用的反思方法包括写反思性文章、组合方法以及自由写作等。

Julia老师通过小组讨论、独立思考、主动发言等形式引导大家学会反思,充分调动了现场老师和同学们的积极性和参与度,大家都感到受益匪浅,本次讲座在热烈的掌声中取得圆满成功。


专家简介:

Julia MacRae, Portland State University

Julia has been teaching English as a second language for the past 20 years. This work has taken her to China, Japan, and Ecuador to teach students and to facilitate professional development workshops with faculty. She has presented many times at TESOL(Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) International Conferences and several U.S. regional conferences. Julia iscurrently a senior instructor at the Intensive English Language Program at Portland State University. She travels to China often to work with partnership programs and deliver teaching workshops. Her research interests include student motivation, cross-cultural communication, and reflective practice.
